Playing at the home of our Captain Paul Baker, we were greeted with blue skies and a hot sun for the day, Stoneham has a few hills to negotiate and the course was in great condition so the need for hydration and concentration is vital. It was good to see Bakes with a big cool box on the back of his cart, I'm sure this was for hydration and his powers of concentration are unmatched!
The new handicap system looks to knock shots of you handicap index which makes things even tougher, which chowed in the stableford scores, generally in the mid to high twenties and low thirties, but one player seemed to have a bounce in his step, not only thinking about 5 days golf abroad but achieving 36 points which was good enough to win by two points, well played Andy Heyes, There were 3 players on 34 points and the unlucky one to finish 4th on countback (last 6 holes) was Simon Straker (Record Breaker), good round though Simon. Third was Jason Laney who played near flawlessly and very unlucky not to score a lot better, but second was John Sheehan who had a very good back nine!
