Many of us enjoyed some lovely spring weather for 'The Captain's Drive-in' at Hockley on Thursday. I hope a good day was had by all. Certainly, the course was in good shape for the time of year and we were well looked after by staff. And, I think it's fair to say that our uncontrollable and mostly hapless Captain, Bakes, seemed to enjoy himself!!!

Congratulations to Phil Colmer for winning on count-back and becoming a HSGS multiple winner, just pipping Jason Laney, Pete Smith and David Adams, all on 37 points. Bakes was the leading scorer amongst the high handicappers and Mark Blake the leading scorer amongst our guests on the day. Commiserations to JP on picking up the wooden spoon.

Many thanks to Jim White, in particular, who ran the 'live scoring' on the day - it seemed to work really well and the feedback was very positive. We'll move forward with this at future events.

For this first event, we were keen to submit all scorecards to England Golf for WHS purposes - for those of you who played and have a WHS Index. Unfortunately, Jim did not have all the CDH numbers on the day so was unable to submit all the scores. The following have had their scorecards submitted (you should see the round on your record): Messrs Baker, Blake, Chessell, Burridge, Curl, Eastwood, Green (A), Harrison, Laney, Marks (S), Perry-Lewis, Scott, Watson, White and Heyes. If anyone else would like their scorecard submitted, please provide your England Golf CDH number and confirm your golf club and Jim will sort.
