A year on and good kama came back on to reward John Sheehan, at the same venue last year he was the one to travel with Neal Apps to hospital and this year he has his name on the Summer Bowl, a well deserved winner and 10 years since his last win! Chipping in on the last hole for a two as well.
Other notable performances came from Dave Greetham with 35 points and 4 people finishing on 34 points, Neal Apps, Phil Burridge and Simon Straker, but it was Andy Pryce who performed better on count back, down to the last 6 holes to finish in third place.
At the other end of the scoreboard, Matt Barwell certainly had a game of two halves, 9 points on the front and 20 points on the back nine! There did seem to be some very close scoring as the wooden spoon went to count back as well, with Richard Davis doing slightly worse on the back nine to take it from Paul Baker, Richard is nursing a sore shoulder so unfortunately not the best day.
The weather was pretty good for the day, a little drizzle in the early part of the round, but the wind was strong all day long and some very nasty pin positions made conditions tough, or as Bakes put it he had trouble with the fairway positions!
We had two guests playing and very much like the Ashes it was England vs Australia, both got 34 points but hopefully this isn't a sign for the real Ashes as Shane Merkle (the Aussie) got the better of Jeremy Kenyon to be best gusts on the day!Â
