REPORT

The first 'Order of Merit' event of 2020 finally took place at Littlehampton Golf Club on Friday 17th July. It was a long wait to kick-start the captaincy of Eddie Moloney. 

Due to the global pandemic and coronavirus restrictions, the event was not as usual with social distancing measures in place, no meal after the golf - which prevented everyone catching up for the usual drinks and chat - and no presentations. 

A very strange situation in particular was the absence of Bob Alton who sadly passed away prior to the event. Bob was a witty, charming man to anyone he met and will be sadly missed.  

On the golf course, however, it was the usual hot and sunny day down by the seaside at Littlehampton. Generally, scoring was quite difficult - due in no small part to the blustery conditions and rock-hard fairways. One player in particular enjoyed the links style course; Paul Clark came home with 40 stableford points to take the trophy by to points from John Sheehan and Nick Lawton. Well done Paul!
