REPORT
The final event of the year was again another great day, the weather was mild for the time of year especially considering the frost the day before and the rain the following day. The scoring proved to be very good in the conditions, with Geoff Laney having achieved 23 points after 9 holes!
We had 51 playing on the day with 7 guests, and it was Alex Bizzey playing off 25 who had the best round of the day, possibly his golfing career to date with 43 points, closely followed by defending champion Chris wheeler with 41 points.
After the gold we had the usual dinner and dance attending by approximately 75 people who enjoyed the carvery and prize giving as well as the disco. The auction went well raising over £2k for the Parkinsons charity, especially the Birch family who will enjoy a very nice meal!
Shaun Green did enough on the day to secure the Order of Merit title, the 9th different winner in 9 years!
There was also a team event running for the final event this year, which was best 3 stableford scores out of 4, with teams of 3 adding 13 points to their total score. The results were:-
