Blackmoor Golf Club
22nd February 2013
The first event of the year took place on a very cold February day, light snow even came down but that didn't hamper John Sheehan and Dave Brown turning in 38 points, John just pipping Dave to first place on countback.
Jem Edmunds picked up third place and leads the 20+ division and JP reclaimed the wooden spoon for the event. Other prises included Andy Birch and Jem picking up nearest the pin, with Martin Nailor (guest of Phil Green) winning the longest drive in front of Stuart Marks who lucks out yet again, will it ever be his day!!
The draw for the knockout competition took place a the meal and again produced a few surprises, mainly that Fez and a couple of others forgot to enter, but some random redrawing has managed to include them in the preliminary round!
It should also be noted that Bob Alton almost managed to decapitate two of his playing partners, shanking the ball along the ground thankfully at Al Harris and David Greetham, luckily hitting Stick on the shoe!
Phil Green presented the large cheque to Captain ? who came along for the meal representing the charity, the Society raised over £1,000 so well done everyone.
