Details for the second event of 2017 of the HSGS calendar, the Spring Cup, have now been finalised. Those still wanting to play or come along in the evening are more than welcome. Please contact the Chairman on the contact details below.

The format of the day will be as follows:

• • Meet - from 9.30am; tea/coffee on arrival (breakfast not included so buy your own if you need it!).

  • Morning tee-times - from 10.30am-11.42am - see below; 9 holes - 'Stroller' - this will be a team event with the best two stableford scores counting on each hole; prizes - winning team, 'Longest Drive' (1st), 'Nearest the Pin' (3rd) and 'Nearest the Pin in Two' (9th).

  • Sandwich lunch - on a rolling basis - from 12.30pm.

  • Afternoon tee-times - from 1.50pm-2.22pm - see below - 'Becton' and 'Needles' - split tee-times with half the group teeing off on 'Becton' and half teeing off on 'Needles'; 18 holes - stableford competition - full handicap; prizes - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, wooden spoon, 'Longest Drive' ('Becton' - 6th), 'Nearest the Pin' ('Needles' - 9th) and 'Nearest the Pin in Two' ('Needles' - 1st).

  • 2-course dinner - steak and ale pie and trimmings, chocolate brownie and ice cream - 7.15pm.

  • Presentations - 8.30pm

There will be prizes for the first three places, plus the nearest the pin, longest drive and nearest the pin (in two).

Dress code for golf - Society t-shirts must be worn - or a fine will be incurred!. Tailored trousers or shorts (no denim, beach-wear, etc.).

Dress code for the evening - Jacket and Society tie are compulsory for men, and the 'Fines Master' will be on the lookout!
