Details for the second event of 2016 of the HSGS calendar, the Spring Cup, have now been finalised. Those still wanting to play or come along in the evening are more than welcome. Please contact the Chairman on the contact details below.
I'm delighted to say that we have 46 members and two guests, 48 altogether, confirmed for the second 'Order of Merit' event of 2016, 'The Spring Cup', at Weybrook Park Golf Club, this coming Friday 6th May. The defending Champion is Stuart Marks.
Final arrangements for the day are as follows:
Meet – from 12 noon; tea/coffee and bacon roll on arrival
Dress code - Society t-shirts and pinkies (if you have them) to be worn by members! If you do not own a pair of pinkies, please wear tailored trousers/shorts
Tee-times – from 1pm to 2.28pm - see below
18 holes – stableford competition – full handicap
Prizes - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 'High Handicapper', ‘Longest Drive’ (15th hole), ‘Nearest the Pin’ (17th hole), ‘Nearest the Pin in Two (18th hole)’, wooden spoon
Two-course meal - lasagne, chips and salad followed by chocolate brownie and cream -available from 7pm on a rolling basis

Geoff will again be seeking to raise money for charity this year and will explain more on the day - please come armed with some cash!
The format of the day will be 18 hole stableford, full handicap allowance. This competition will form the second leg of the 'Straggler of the Year' Order of Merit 2016.
There will be prizes for the first three places, plus the nearest the pin, longest drive and nearest the pin (in two).
Dress code for golf - Society t-shirts must be worn - or a fine will be incurred!. Tailored trousers or shorts (no denim, beach-wear, etc.).
Dress code for the evening - Jacket and Society tie are compulsory for men, and the 'Fines Master' will be on the lookout!
